Al-Quds Open University, in collaboration with its partners in "Enhancing Early Childhood Education and Care in Palestine" project, which is funded by the European Union under the Erasmus program, held its sixth and final administrative meeting, hosted and organized by Pixel Foundation in Florence, Italy.
The meeting included twelve partners from the University of Crete in Greece, the University of Palermo in Italy, the University of Braganca in Portugal, Royal Holloway University of London, the Pixel Foundation in Italy, the Global Inclusive Education Foundation in Ireland, and from Palestine, Al-Quds Open University, Al-Aqsa University, Al-Ummah College, Al-Rawda College, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Social Development.
The meeting aimed to review the activities implemented throughout the project's duration in preparation for writing the final project report. Additionally, it explored the possibility of applying for a subsequent phase of the project to the European Union through the Erasmus+ program.
The first day focused on presenting the activities, as well as the key achievements made during the project. The second day highlighted important suggestions for a potential follow-up phase. After a thorough discussion of these suggestions, it was agreed to submit a project on providing psychological, social, and educational support to children at preschool stage.
Al Quds Open University was represented by Dr. Iyad Abu Bakr, the Technical Team Leader for the project, and Eng. Jad Freij, of the technical team who attended the meeting in person. Meanwhile, Ms. Bayan Shoubaki, the Project Coordinator, and Dr. Atef Al-Assouli, the Preparatory Phase Leader, participated remotely via Zoom.
The university's delegation concluded its participation with extensive discussions on the prospects for enhancing scientific and research collaboration with partner universities and the urgent need to submit the proposal for the second phase of the project. They also expressed appreciation for the Pixel Foundation’s efforts in organizing the meeting and hosting it.
