Al-Quds Open University's Jericho Branch Concludes Advanced English Language Mastery Course

Al-Quds Open University, represented by the Center for Continuing Education and Community Service at its Jericho branch, concluded on Sunday, April 26, 2026, a training course entitled "Mastering English Language Skills – Advanced Level". The course was held on the university campus, comprising 40 training hours, with the participation of 15 male and female trainees from among the university's students, graduates, and members of the local community.

This course which focused on developing conversation and communication skills in English comes within the framework of the Center's ongoing efforts to build the capacities of students and graduates and was held in partnership with the Women's Center in Ein Al-Sultan, and with support from The DEAR Foundation Switzerland.

The Director of the University's Jericho Branch, Dr. Younes Jaafar, affirmed that these courses align with the university's mission to empower students and graduates, noting that mastering the English language is an essential tool for keeping pace with global developments and enhancing employment opportunities. He added that the university will continue to offer distinguished programs that meet the needs of the community.

For her part, trainer Ms. Sereen Al-Shamali noted that participants demonstrated exceptional commitment and engagement throughout the training sessions, commending their eagerness to develop their skills, and affirming that this interaction will positively reflect on their academic and professional performance.

On their part, the Director of the Women's Center in Ein Al-Sultan, Ms. Hania Hammad and Executive Director Ms. Myassar Waqqad emphasized the importance of this partnership in supporting and empowering community groups, pointing to their readiness to launch the second part of the program, which includes 30 hours of applied community service training. They extended their gratitude and appreciation to Al-Quds Open University and its staff for their great efforts and dedication in implementing the training program, stressing the importance of continuing this fruitful cooperation in serving the local community and the development of its members' capacities.

The participating students expressed their happiness at taking part in this course, affirming that it contributed to improving their language skills and boosting their confidence in using English in their daily and academic lives, and praising the level of organization and training content.

At the conclusion of the course, a certificate of appreciation was presented to the trainer in recognition of her efforts in making the training program a success, with certificates for participating students to be distributed upon the completion of all phases of the training program.
