Al-Quds Open University Concludes Its Participation in the 26th Creative Student Forum in the Sultanate of Oman

 Al-Quds Open University concluded its participation in the 26th Creative Student Forum, organized by the Arab Council for Training and Student Creativity affiliated with the Association of Arab Universities and hosted this year by the University of Nizwa in the Sultanate of Oman. The forum was held under the theme: “Opportunities and Challenges Facing Educational Institutions in Light of Technological Developments,” with the participation of 36 universities from 9 Arab countries, across tracks that included scientific research, artistic creativity, innovation, and information technology.

Student Ruba Deeb from Al-Quds Open University took part with a research project titled “A Smartwatch to Enhance Life and Communication Skills for Persons with Hearing Disabilities (the Deaf),” presented under the track of modern trends in information technology, and supervised by Dr. Tha’era Sabah from the University’s Ramallah and Al-Bireh branch.

University President Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Shaer praised the performance of the University’s delegation, noting that the forum “provides a stimulating environment for Arab students to meet and exchange experiences within the realm of scientific research,” and emphasizing the University’s commitment to supporting creativity and innovation in line with rapid technological advancements.

Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Salameh Salem also expressed his appreciation to the University of Nizwa for its warm hospitality, pointing out that the University’s participation “helped highlight the capabilities of its students and strengthen its academic presence,” and commending the efforts of the Arab Council for Training and Student Creativity in organizing the event.

For her part, Dr. Tha’era Sabah stated that student participation in such forums represents an important opportunity to discover their potential and develop their research and creative skills. She expressed her appreciation for Ruba’s performance and her distinguished representation of the University. The student expressed her delight at taking part in the forum, describing the experience as “valuable and enriching,” as it enabled her to present her project before distinguished academics and students from across the Arab world, an experience that strengthened her confidence and motivation to continue working to support persons with hearing disabilities. She also expressed her gratitude for the support provided by the University and her supervisor, noting that this support played a key role in the success of her participation.
