Al-Quds Open University (QOU), led by its President, Prof. Ibrahim Al-Shaer, participated in the launch of University Innovation Day on February 17, 2025, at HCIE headquarters in Ramallah. This event aimed to enhance the innovation environment within Palestinian universities and motivate students and researchers to present pioneering ideas and projects that contribute to sustainable development.
The inauguration was attended by presidents and representatives of Palestinian universities. During the event, Prof. Al-Shaer signed an official memorandum of understanding between the Council and Al-Quds Open University to foster a stimulating environment for creativity and empower young talents to turn their ideas into viable projects.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Council, Eng. Adnan Samara, emphasized that this event marks a pivotal step in supporting university-driven innovation and strengthening the link between higher education, scientific research, and entrepreneurship. He also noted that the Council will provide technical, advisory, and financial support to promising projects, transforming them into practical, implementable solutions that contribute to the knowledge economy and enhance the role of youth in Palestinian society.
Prof. Ibrahim Al-Shaer expressed his gratitude to the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence for its continuous support of Palestinian universities and student innovation. He highlighted the role of universities in fostering an incubator environment for young innovators. Al-Shaer also praised the achievements of QOU students, specifically mentioning Nidaa Juwailis, who won first place in the Arab world and Palestine at the 25th Creative Student Forum in Erbil, and Adnan Abu Sneineh, who secured first place in the Arab world in the 2025 Simulating Arab Competition Authorities training program.
