Prof. Ismail Shandi, faculty member at Al-Quds Open University, participated in the international symposuim organized by the Faculty of Theology at Kafkas University in Türkiye, held virtually on Friday, 10 October 2025, under the title:
“Family at the Crossroads of Tradition and Family.”
Prof. Shandi presented a peer-reviewed research paper titled “The Family in Islamic Thought.” In his paper, he highlighted the importance of the family in Islamic philosophy, the characteristics of the family system in Islam, the principles of family formation, and the rights and duties of family members, in addition to the mechanisms for maintaining family cohesion.
The study recommended raising religious awareness about the family system in Islam, emphasizing its pivotal role in shaping future generations, and strengthening mechanisms that preserve its unity and prevent disintegration.
The conference included twenty sessions and featured more than 90 peer-reviewed research papers, addressing various topics related to the theme. It brought together scholars from numerous Arab and Islamic universities.
This participation comes within the framework of the University’s commitment to engage in international academic forums and to strengthen networking and cooperation with higher education institutions at the local, regional, and international levels.
