Bethlehem Branch was established in 1991 when the University was launched all over Palestine. It started functioning in small rented premises. In the vision of increasing the numbers of students enrolling in the University, the University administration decided to buy a piece of land in Beit Jala to construct a new comprehensive spacious campus consisting of 6000 square meters which was completed in 2007.

With the increasing number of students in Bethlehem Branch, an additional floor of 1000 square meters was added to Bethlehem Campus. As a result, the number of new students increased and new specializations were offered.
Bethlehem Branch currently provides academic services to approximately 3000 students distributed amongst eight colleges and twenty specializations.
