Al-Quds Open University Publishes in Q1 Scopus Journal

 Al-Quds Open University (QOU) has marked a significant milestone on the global research stage. A team from QOU and leading universities in China, Canada, the UK, Malaysia, the Philippines, Turkey, and Spain, has published a peer-reviewed paper titled “Investigating the Sustainability of Open Universities: Models, Opportunities, and Challenges” in the Journal of Applied Learning & Teaching, a prestigious Q1 journal indexed in Scopus. Dr. Mahmoud Hawamdeh Director of the Yatta Branch, represented QOU in this collaboration.

This achievement reflects the vision of QOU President, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Shaer, and highlights the university’s ongoing commitment to being a leader in open and accessible education worldwide.

Dr. Hawamdeh said: “Publishing in a top international journal shows the quality of research at our university and our commitment to academic excellence. It also underscores the value of international collaboration.” He added: “Our paper explores sustainable models for open universities, the challenges they face, and the role of technology and partnerships in delivering high-quality education.”

He also shared that the team is working on a follow-up paper focusing on integrating artificial intelligence into open learning environments, demonstrating the university’s dedication to keeping up with scientific and technological developments.
