QOU Opens New Horizons of Cooperation with the Euro-Mediterranean University in Slovenia

QOU and the Euro-Mediterranean University in Slovenia (EMUNI) held a Zoom meeting to explore opportunities for joint academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.

Al-Quds Open University was represented by its President, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Shaer, along with the Chairman of its Board of Trustees, Eng. Adnan Samara, and Administrative Assistant at the President’s Office, Ms. Randa Abdel-Hay. EMUNI was represented by its President, Prof. Dr. Rado Bohinc, and the Director of the President’s Office, Ms. Polona Oblak.

During the meeting, Prof. Al-Shaer highlighted the alignment of visions and missions between the two universities, noting their shared goals of democratizing higher education, expanding access, and promoting innovation and digital transformation.

Prof. Bohinc expressed his pride in engaging with Al-Quds Open University, emphasizing that regional academic cooperation contributes to sustainable development and cultural exchange in the Euro-Mediterranean region.

The meeting discussed collaboration proposals, including joint academic programs in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, language programs, the establishment of research and innovation incubators, student and faculty exchanges, participation in European-funded projects, as well as organizing summer schools, conferences, and workshops on digital education.

The meeting concluded with both parties affirming that this initiative marks the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at exchanging knowledge and expertise to enhance academic and research excellence.
