Al-Quds Open University presented session on the STEM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) during a training workshop organized by the Ministry of Education for a group of teachers and supervisors. This initiative is part of a project to develop a national strategy for the STEM approach in Palestine, carried out in partnership with Al-Quds University (Abu Dis) and the Ministry of Education, and funded by UNICEF.
In her presentation, Dr. Randa Najdi, a faculty member at Al-Quds Open University, discussed the concept of "STEM" approach, its importance, and its relation to inquiry-based learning. She also screened a short film about Al-Quds Open University's experience in applying this approach to students at the university and in local institutions.
The training workshop aims to train some teachers and educational supervisors on the training manual of "Inquiry-Based Learning according to the 5Es Model within the STEM Approach" developed by a team from Al-Quds Open University as part of the mentioned project. This manual will be adopted as a training reference to qualify teachers to teach the "STEM" approach to grades one through four.
