Strategic Visions for Improving the Quality of Tourism Services in light of the Partnership between the Public and Private Sectors Submission Deadline is no Later than 2/8/2022 Conference Period: 27-29/10/2022 At Ibn Zohr University-Agadir/Kingdom of Morocco |
Conference Importance
Tourism is one of the most developed sectors at the global level and has become a real economic leverage for many countries at the micro and macroeconomic level. World statistics indicate that the number of tourists is continuously increasing despite some obstacles that may face the tourism growth from time to time. Tourism is embodied in a wide range of economic, social, cultural and civilizational activities, as well as other activities carried out by the tourists traveling from one country to another or moving within the country itself (as domestic tourism).
Tourism is of great and increasing importance, as it brings economic benefits to individuals, organizations, and countries. Tourism has contributed to growth and prosperity, and to increased job opportunities as a major motivator for temporary and permanent jobs.
Tourism also contributes to the entry of hard currencies into the host country, which helps in the development of the economic conditions and the balance of payments.
Tourism is considered the civilization platform that reflects the nature of the countries and the nations.
It enables tourists to learn about the customs, traditions, and values prevailing in the host countries. Tourism is one of the effective means of cultural exchange between the individuals. It reflects an intellectual pathway that affects tourists and introduces them to the cultural character of the host country. The tourism is also reflected positively and substantially on the infrastructure of the country, as it pushes it towards sustainable work to improve, develop and diversify the system of various services directed towards tourists and non-tourists.
This is clearly and substantially reflected in the different areas, especially poor areas relatively close to tourist attractions. The great importance of tourism necessitates that the Arab countries increase their interest in the tourism sectors, and pay attention to expanding the tourism products. This will help them achieve quality and excellence in delivering these products (goods and services).
In addition, investment should be increased within the various activities of the tourism sectors, especially the tourism services and their marketing activities for target groups in different sites. On the other hand, the quality and uniqueness of tourism services require the realization of a true partnership between the public and private sectors, especially in light of the financial and economic crises that countries are exposed to from time to time.
This partnership will help limit the financial burdens that countries should spend in the tourism sectors. Through this partnership, mutual benefits are achieved for both the public and private sectors. The partnership between the public and private sectors are forged within the infrastructure projects that are the backbone of essential services that serve citizens, improve tourism services.
These projects are divided between economic infrastructure projects (such as the construction of bridges, roads, railways, various utility services, water and sewage networks, transportation facilities, and communications, etc.) and social infrastructure projects (such as the construction of social services institutions, hospitals, educational institutions, entertainment services, resorts, security and protection services, etc.).
Al-Quds Open University (Palestine) and Ibn Zahr University/ Agadir (Kingdom of Morocco) have given attention to this important subject (the quality of tourism services and the realization of the partnership between the public and private sectors for tourism investments), so, both Universities have agreed to organize this joint conference.
We hope to receive distinguished papers that deal with the various topics of the conference and will enrich its sessions with unique and new ideas. We also expect that the outcomes, and the recommendations of this conference will have a prominent role in developing solutions and proposals that will contribute to improve and develop the tourism industry in the Arab countries.
