QOU and GSU sign an agreement to develop a PhD program in Computer Science

 Prof. Dr. Samir Najdi, the President of Al-Quds Open University, and Dr. M. Brian Blake the President of Georgia State University (GSU) signed a Joint collaboration agreement to implement a Ph.D. Program in Computer Science.

The signing took place at the Presidency of GSU in Atlanta, in the presence of Dr. Wolfgang, Dean of the Office of International Initiatives, Dr. Armin Mikler Chair of the Department of Computer Science, Dr. Raj Sandraman, the Assistant Head of the Computer Science Department and  Dr. Nael Abu Halawa,  Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Applied Sciences at QOU.

QOU’s delegation visit to GSU was part of “Developing a PhD Program and Strengthening Scientific Research” project implemented in partnership with Georgia State University and funded by the Palestinian-American Affairs Unit. The visit aimed to discuss ways of cooperation between the two universities in several fields, including research and development of teaching methodologies.

The two sides discussed mechanisms and practical steps to start implementing a joint doctoral program and cooperation in the field of a computer master's program . QOU delegation also met with a number of representatives of international relations, and discussed a number of areas of cooperation, including the exchange of students and faculty members, virtual exchanges, and the establishment of other joint programs between the two universities, in addition to exchanging experiences and tools used by GSU the field of E-learning, especially those that employ artificial intelligence technology.
