QOU and the Colonization & the Wall Resistance Commission hold a conference on Popular Resistance in Palestine in Literature and Reality

 Under the auspices of His Excellency the Governor of Qalqilya, Major General Rafie Rawajbeh, Al Quds Open University and the Wall Resistance Commission held a scientific conference entitled "Popular Resistance in Palestine Literature and Practice”.

The conference included three scientific sessions, the first of which included four research papers. The first paper  entitled "The Zionist occupation measures against the olive economy in the West Bank in Palestine," while the second paper entitled "Palestinian Popular Resistance (the Great March of Return) as a model" and the third paper entitled "The experience of Bil'in in resistance and the Role of the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission in Preventing the judaization of the Occupied Palestinian Territory in 1976".

In the second session four papers were presented, the first paper entitled "Popular Resistance in the Gaza Strip (the Great March of Return as a Model)", the second paper "The impact of Palestinian peaceful marches on the zionist settlement project," while the third paper entitled "Persistence form of Peaceful popular resistance against the settlement wall (Khan al-Ahmar as a model) . The last paper is entitled "Digital Popular Diplomacy".

In the third session, four scientific papers were presented, the first entitled "Features of the popular resistance in the Diwan (glory bends before you) and the paper" Resistance in the novel (the last kiss of Bethlehem) and the third paper entitled "Olive tree: a symbol of steadfastness in the contemporary Palestinian poem The session was concluded with a scientific paper titled "Martyrs of Al - Buraq Jerusalem Revolution in Palestinian Popular Singing".

The participants recommended the development of the Palestinian popular resistance and its forms, and the establishment of a special financial fund to support the Colonization & the Wall Resistance Commission and enhance the steadfastness of citizens, pointing to the importance of employing modern digital technologies to serve the national cause and the popular resistance and its forms and investment to expose the practices of the occupation and aggression against the Palestinian people..

The participants called for linking studies dealing with popular resistance to the various aspects of Palestinian political, social, cultural and economic life, noting the importance of benefiting from the experiences of Bil'in and Khan al-Ahmar in facing the wall of annexation and apartheid, and developing popular resistance to be more successful and achieve national goals.

The participants stressed the need to generalize the experience of the great return marches to stand in the face of the occupation and thwart his plans, calling for the use of modern and contemporary research methods in the analysis of creative texts resistance.

The conference also recommended studying the creative literary work that deals with the Palestinian popular resistance and its criticism in the light of its reality and artistic value, pointing to the importance of upgrading the level of popular resistance to become a comprehensive national culture.

The Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference Dr. Zaher Hanani said that the conference's recommendations would be circulated to the relevant research and national institutions.
