The Center for Continuing Education and Community Service at Al-Quds Open University delivered a  lecture through  webinar on Thursday, 25/4/2019, organized by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training, in order to transfer the University’s experience in providing lifelong learning and continuing education to marginalized groups in Palestine.

Mr. Mahmoud Hawamdeh talked in details about the history and phases of the establishment of Al Quds Open University, and the wise policy adopted by the University administration in establishing branches in all Palestinian cities to provide education for marginalized areas. He also talked about the training centers of the people with visual impairments established by QOU to serve the students with special needs and about e-learning platforms and e-courses developed by Al-Quds Educational Channel. The lecture also focused on the University's pioneering experience in implementing the mobile educational centers project in the marginalized areas by supplying two trucks with computer labs and an electronic library, traveling in the marginalized areas of the Jordan Valley and south of Hebron to provide education there. A short film, produced by the satellite channel that presents the experience of the mobile learning centers was screened.

The pioneering experience of QOU impressed the participants and this was clear by the questions raised and reactions of the attendees on how the University was able to provide an integrated and comprehensive model to provide education to all segments of society, especially to those who are less fortunate, by establishing branches in all Palestinian cities and by the effective use of technology and implementing pilot projects such as mobile educational centers.
